On behalf of the International Program Committee and the National Organizing Committee we cordially invite you to participate in the 12th IFAC Symposium on Biological and Medical Systems and the 17th AUTOMED in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany from 11-13 September 2024. It will bring your latest research to the attention of expert scientists, researchers, engineers, physicians and students from all over the world.


The symposium will take place at campus Schwenningen of Furtwangen University (HFU) organized by the Institute of Technical Medicine (ITeM). The IFAC symposium will be a joint event with the German Technical Committee on “Automation in Medicine” and integrates the 17th regular workshop “AUTOMED 2024”.

  

The symposium will address innovations and control aspects in technical solutions to medical, physiological and biological problems and provides an excellent opportunity to share latest research with established experts from all over the world.

BMS 2024 features four major themes (among others) to provide latest results in the context of personalized medicine and personalized diagnostic and therapeutic processes:


• Digital Twin models for therapy optimization and other biomedical applications
• Drug delivery systems, modelling, control, and applications
• Intelligent medical devices
• Machine learning for biomedical processes e.g., signal and image analysis, data fusion, control

 

Special invited sessions will address additional topics e.g., “Women’s health and equity of care”, “Mental Health” or “AI methods in the Operating Theatre “.

The conference venue Villingen-Schwenningen is located in the mid “Black Forest” one of the most beautiful areas in Germany. While Villingen is famous for its historical town centre surrounded by the remains of a medieval town wall, Schwenningen is a town built on industry, famous for the clock factories which exported top quality products worldwide. At the end of summer, there is usually a mildly warm climate in Villingen-Schwenningen offering plenty of options for hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest.
